Ultrasonic Ringtones

Test your hearing here.

Find out just how far your ears can hear into the range of ultrasonic ringtones. Pretty much everyone should be able to hear the lowest tone (8kHz). Many people should be able to hear up to around 14.1kHz, from around 17kHz upwards we get into the range that only the under 20’s can hear!

My hearing appears to peak out around the 18.8kHz range.

Booya! 21.1kHz, although I think it may just be my speakers. Would the volume level matter? I’d like to check this against a control. I always knew I was sensitive to sounds.

I’m not sure if the volume level matters, though I thought I was hearing higher tonal ranges when I had my laptop speakers all the way up than when I had it 1/3 of the way up.

The best way to test this would be to put headphones on and have someone else control the computer. Whenever the person with headphones hears the tone, they could raise their hand.

16.7kHz I really think it depends on the level of your speakers and how good they are, how far away from one’s ear, and any outside noise. I wonder if the test should be done with the volume up the whole way or what is normal for each person. The bottom line…I can hear pretty well.
