Richard Hawley

Though it was released only last year, Richard Hawley’s Cole’s Corner fills you with a nostalgia of times long past past similar to all those classic films of the late 40s and early 50s. Overflowing with heartwrenching melodies, songwriting and vocals, this never left my cd player last fall, and it’s one of the most beautiful albums I’ve stumbled across in the past few years.
Cole’s Corner (sendspace) with some lyrics below:
Old city lights glowing
the traffic of life is flowing
Out over the rivers, and on into dark
Hold back the night from us
Cherish the light for us
Don’t let the shadows hold back the dawn
Going downtown where there’s music
Going where voices fill the air
Maybe there’s someone waiting for me
With a smile and a flower in her hair
The Ocean (sendspace)
